Engineering & Design
There’s nothing more painful or expensive than trying to retrofit a bad design.
Here at TJW, our culture and expertise set us apart from the competition, and their byproduct is our Engineering and Design Process. When we view your project, we evaluate every possible scenario, from its feasibility to your needs and budget, and approach the project linearly. Transparency in our process empowers our customers to walk alongside us, mitigating any potential unmet expectations.
Our processes have been curated from our deep level of technical expertise and decades of experience designing and building refrigeration projects for our customers.
Our Engineering & Design Process is as follows:
Initial Site Visit:
Our highly trained and experienced engineering team will conduct an initial on-site evaluation to understand the project’s specific needs and conditions. If no available drawings or system documentation are available at this time, TJW will propose an engineering study to determine project feasibility, ensuring a solid foundation for all subsequent steps.
System Analysis:
TJW will perform a thorough analysis of the existing system’s capacities and capabilities. Our ability to conduct detailed system analyses sets us apart, allowing us to provide tailored solutions that maximize efficiency and performance.
Create a Preliminary Design:
Based on the client’s specifications and our findings, TJW will work to develop a preliminary design for our customers. This step involves creating a comprehensive solution and defining the project scope to meet the customer’s requirements, ensuring all aspects of the project align with their goals.
Preparing the Budget:
Once we agree upon a preliminary design and feel confident that we are a potential fit, our team is hard at work preparing a detailed & comprehensive scope of work breaking down costs, making it easy for customers to understand how their budget is being allocated. Additionally, we will also provide alternative solutions to offer flexibility and ensure the best value for their investment.
Once the details are finalized and we both feel confident in the success of the project, we provide the customer with a complete financial breakdown, giving our customers a transparent view of any anticipated costs.
Project Kick-Off:
Once we enter into a partnership on your build, we conduct 3D laser scanning to document existing site conditions accurately. We then generate detailed construction drawings and create a comprehensive Building Information Modeling (BIM) model, ensuring every aspect of the project is meticulously planned and documented.
Equipment Ordering & Submittal Process
We place orders for all necessary equipment and initiate the submittal process. This step is paramount as it involves presenting detailed design drawings to the customer for approval, ensuring they understand and approve every element before proceeding. This crucial step ensures that all design elements meet the client’s expectations, and once approved, we start the clock on equipment delivery.
Detailing and Fabrication:
After receiving design approval, we commence the detailing process, creating precise 3D models with what are known as spool sheets. These spool sheets are sent to our state-of-the-art, in-house fabrication shop, where they are used to efficiently manufacture the project components accurately in a controlled environment, all while avoiding the elements.
As we often mention here at TJW, there is nothing more painful than trying to retrofit a bad design. That is where TJW’s expertise and experience separate us from our competition, and we believe that transparently conveying our process proves it.
